- COURSE INFORMATION:
This five-day seminar is multi-purpose: For those Nuclear Medicine Technologists preparing to take the NMTCB PET examination, this 45-hour course serves as an excellent review. It covers the Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine with special emphasis on PET-related topics and has been approved by and meets the alternate eligibility requirements of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). It provides the requisite number of hours in the following areas, as specified on the NMTCB website: 15 hours of Radiopharmacy, 15 hours of Radiation Safety, and 15 hours of Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation and its associated Physics.
Integrated into this course are presentations that cover all the Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine. These include Nuclear Medicine Physics, Radionuclide Generators, Radioisotope Production, Radiopharmaceuticals, PET Radiopharmaceuticals, NRC Regulations, Hot Lab Quality Control Procedures, Scintillation Detection, Gamma Camera design, Operation, and Quality Control, PET, SPECT, Computers and Image Processing and PACS, In Vivo Non-Imaging Procedures, Radionuclide Therapy, Internal Radiation Dosimetry, and related topics.
It provides practicing Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Nuclear Medicine administrators, and representatives of industry the opportunity for a comprehensive review of the Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine.
It provides, at no charge, a maximum of 24 hours of continuing education credit approved by the VOICE Program of the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
- CONTINUING EDUCATION: Approved by the VOICE Program of the Society of Nuclear Medicine for 24 hours of CE Credit. VOICE Credit is recognized by the NMTCB, the ARRT, the USNRC and all State Departments of Nuclear Safety.

Day 2: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Day 3: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Day 4: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Day 5: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM
All lecture topics are related to Radiopharmacy, Nuclear Medicine Physics, PET, Instrumentation, and other Basic Science topics of Nuclear Medicine. You will receive your Course Certificates before you depart on the last day of the course. Please note that all CE Credits have been approved by the VOICE Program of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and therefore accepted by all credentialing agencies.

- TIME: Lectures are scheduled from 7 AM -7 PM on days 1 - 4 and from 7 AM – 1 PM on day 5.
- TUITION FEE: $1,200.00 for the 5-day course. Fee must accompany the attached application form or must be paid by on-line registration (see registration methods below). Included in tuition fee are breakfast, all coffee breaks, handouts, and course materials. There is a $25 fee for cancellation requests, which must be in writing. No refunds are available after course begins. Enrollment is limited- please register early.
- HOTEL: A block of rooms has been reserved at the beautiful Marriott Hotel, 1401 W 22nd St, Oak Brook, IL 60523. Telephone number: (800) 228-9290. The 2012 room rate: $117-127.00 per night, single or double, for a small suite (regular rate: $179-259/night.)
Lectures for the 2012 sessions will be held at the Marriott Hotel.
- AIR TRAVEL: It is most convenient to fly into either O'Hare International Airport or Midway Airport, each of which is about 20 miles from the hotel. In either case, when you have your luggage, simply call American Taxi at 847/255-9614 and give the dispatcher your location. Their driver will pick you up within 5-10 minutes. Flat rate fare to the hotel is approximately $40 from O’Hare International Airport or Midway Airport and may be shared with other riders going to the same hotel. There is a charge of $2 for each additional passenger.
